Illustration Friday: Polar

click on image for larger view

i didn't put a lot of thought into this one, just went with the basics. using the definition "occupying or characterized by opposite extremes" and also managing to work in " of or relating to a pole" (though it's really more of a rod) i kept it simple.

a couple of shout outs to my buds Mattman (for his excellent commentary on selling your artwork in his blog last week) and Arkonbey (for mentioning me in his blog a couple of weeks ago)! special thanks to everyone who left comments last week also.

created entirely in Adobe Illustrator specifically for this IF challenge. Have a groovy week!

Very nice work, Bill! Love the energy of this piece. Hey, could you send me the link on that piece about selling your work??? I really want to read it.

I just started reading some book on the business of illustration, but haven't goten too far into it yet.

Regards!

Scott

Bill, I found the link by browsing your blog....

The book I just started is "Inside The Business Of Illustration". I'm not far into it, but the intro eched nearly exactly what mattman said.

I need to get my ass into gear and market myself!

Do you have an immense, enviable comic collection from which you get the basis for your cool works?

I also remember that there was a marvel character that was like this, half cold, half hot. However, I'm not going to go through my old OHOTMU books to find out.

Brilliant comic cover again,
It becomes a tease as we get to see the covers but never read the stories!
So good to see so much passion from you in a genre.
